Meet Dr. Roshell Hanse
Roshell Hanse, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, CCTP
Dr. Roshell Hanse is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She is the founder of YESTINY Counseling and Wellness Services, a transformative mental wellness practice dedicated to helping clients step into their power, reclaim their worth, and live boldly aligned with their most authentic selves.
Dr. Roshell brings a deep sense of empathy, intentionality, and empowerment to her work. Her counseling approach is holistic and collaborative, centering on the intentional connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She works closely with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, relationship distress, couples counseling, pre-marital counseling, boundaries, inner child work, family distress, life transitions, self-esteem, and self-worth. Clients are drawn to her compassionate, endearing presence and often leave sessions feeling deeply understood, inspired, and ready to take empowered steps toward healing.
Dr. Roshell began her journey in psychology at Florida A&M University, where the seeds of her passion for mental health and advocacy were first planted. Her career launched in Washington, D.C., where she worked on Pennsylvania Avenue alongside a leading psychologist who served high-profile clients, including lawmakers, political figures, and the Washington Commanders. These early experiences fueled her desire to create spaces where clients could be seen, validated, and transformed.
After earning her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision (with a specialization in Couples, Marital, and Family Counseling) from Barry University, Dr. Roshell combined clinical expertise with lived experience to launch her private practice. In 2021, she took a bold leap and left her job to create YESTINY Counseling and Wellness Services, a platform rooted in the belief that saying “YES” to yourself is the first step toward lasting change.
Since then, she has become a sought-after speaker and panelist, known for empowering clients to challenge limiting beliefs, embrace their truth, and cultivate self-esteem, confidence, and clarity. Her personal journey as the youngest of five children raised by a single mother and a survivor of early childhood trauma deeply informs her work. It is this journey that fuels her message: To live the life you want, you must first become your own YES.
